How to Store Hurricane Shutters

Don’t just remove the hurricane shutters and throw them into the garage (for next time!). After you remove aluminium or steel shutters it’s important to lubricate all screws that stay in the walls of the house including the tie-down screws.  Fill in holes left from screws so water won’t get in and rot the wood (if you have wooden shutters).  Sand, then prime and paint the shutter surface to maintain it’s appearance.
